Beyoncé’s push party looked like the stuff of dreams, and now the singer’s best friend La La Anthony has shared some details from the lavish African-themed do.
La La – real name Alani Nicole – was appearing on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live when she was bombarded with a speed round of questions all about the baby shower – including why Kim Kardashian wasn’t there.
Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams was also in attendance, La La confirmed, but when Andy asked whether she knew why Kim K wasn’t there, she answered that she “didn’t know that actually”.
“A beautiful belly,” was La La’s answer to Andy’s first question about what Queen Bey wore to the baby shower.
The star also displayed an intricate henna tattoo on her baby bump, and shared images of her glam self at the bash on Instagram.
Next up was the question on everybody’s lips: what did they eat?
“The most amazing food I can ever remember, it was like a backyard BBQ,” the TV star and novelist continued.
She also denied that any of the guests knew the sex of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s twins before the party, but confirmed that “duh!”, of course Jay-Z was at the bash.
After hinting that there may have been a few partygoers who may have got a bit too drunk, she went on to reveal that Blue Ivy seemed “very excited” about becoming an older sister to siblings.
But she did assure viewers that Tina Knowles turned up the party to “50”. As if we expected anything less from Tina.
There’s been lots of speculation about whether Beyoncé and Kim are actually friends, as despite being pictured at celebrity events together, they’ve never really appeared that close. It was even reported last year that Bey didn’t invite Kim and Kanye West to Jay-Z’s birthday party, and now Jay-Z has taken aim at former friend Kanye West in lyrics from his new album 4:44.
Meanwhile, the world is still awaiting confirmation that Beyonce and Jay-Z have welcomed the arrival of twins. The couple have reportedly registered the names ‘Rumi Carter’ and ‘Sir Carter’ in the US, prompting rumours that those are the names of their newborns.
